Response of soil water movement to rainfall under different land uses in karst regions

چکیده
Soil water is a critical factor closely related to hydrological and ecological processes. Owing the complex surface conditions with heterogeneous soil thickness abundant underlying fissures, in karst region has been complicated issue. In this study, dynamic changes of vertical profile selected grassland, farmland bare land on yellow hillslope southwest China were monitored at five depths including 20, 40, 60, 80 100 cm an interval 15 min. Results showed that (1) there spatial differences response rainfall content different depths. When amount was similar, replenishment migration depth under three uses decreased intensity. case light rainfall, 20 most sensitive mainly occurred 0–40 cm. moderate heavy could migrate down grassland but less than intensity rainfall. (2) The variation had interlayer over time. layers multipeak fluctuations. general, when same, fluctuation same larger land; however, peak value depth. (3) Land use antecedent important effects loss during dry period. faster beginning before slowing down. rate increased length period, gradually land. These results can support utilization protection resources slopes help understand temporal dynamics natural

Soil Respiration under Different Land Uses in Eastern China
Land-use change has a crucial influence on soil respiration, which further affects soil nutrient availability and carbon stock. We monitored soil respiration rates under different land-use types (tea gardens with three production levels, adjacent woodland, and a vegetable field) in Eastern China at weekly intervals over a year using the dynamic closed chamber method. The relationship between so...
متن کاملResponse Characteristics of Soil Fractal Features to Different Land Uses in Typical Purple Soil Watershed
As a fundamental characteristic of soil physical properties, the soil Particle Size Distribution (PSD) is important in the research on soil moisture migration, solution transformation, and soil erosion. In this research, the PSD characteristics with distinct methods in different land uses are analyzed. The results show that the upper bound of the volume domain of the clay domain ranges from 5.7...
متن کاملSoil loss and runoff generation in rangeland, rain-fed and abandoned rain-fed agriculture land-uses under simulated rainfall
Soil erosion is a global challenge, seriously threatening soil and water resources andenvironmental qualities. One of the important factors to consider in the process of runoffgeneration and soil erosion is the physical and chemical properties of soils under differentland-uses. The aim of this study is to estimate soil erosion and runoff in rangeland, rain-fedand abandoned rain-fed agriculture ...
متن کاملThe Effect of Different Land Uses on New Indices of Soil Quality in Central Alborz Region
Different land uses have various effects on the changes of soil properties. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of natural forest, needle-leaved plantation and rangelands of central Alborz on new indices of soil quality (i.e. organic matter stratification, carbon management index and soil biological activities). For this purpose, eight samples from organic layer (litter) and m...
